Less than 24 hours after being recalled as an insurance policy of sorts, Angus Crookshank has been returned to Belleville of the American Hockey League. The belief was that Crookshank was here in case Brady Tkachuk needed a day off but surprise, surprise – the Captain wanted to play.
The Senators have a well-deserved full day off today after picking up a big point yesterday in Pittsburgh. Disappointing to lose in overtime obviously but considering the situation, three outta four points is a damn good weekend.
Just ten games left in the regular season, including nine games on home ice. It starts tomorrow night against the Buffalo Sabres.
