This morning, the Senators officially introduced goaltender Matt O’Connor to the media in Ottawa.
And with that introduction, came a few good quotes from Senators General Manager Bryan Murray on the team’s goaltending situation and how he plans to address his team’s depth at the position. The full interview is embedded below but the message was pretty clear- lots of teams calling Ottawa about their goalies and at this point, more are calling about Robin Lehner.
I’ve heard that has many as four teams have contacted the Senators about Lehner at this point.
Murray also mentioned that in the next couple weeks, he thinks he’ll have the best offers from the team’s showing interest and he’ll make a decision from there. Really does sound like Murray is linking this goalie trade with his ongoing search for a top six forward. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
