With the defence struggling badly at times over the last few games, it was only a matter of time before the Sens made a move.
It looks like they’ve turned to Belleville for some help.
While the team has yet to announce it officially, the AHL website indicates that Erik Brannstrom has been recalled from the American Hockey League.
Despite impressing at times during Camp, Brannstrom got caught up in a bit of a numbers game and started the season with the BSens. And while he got off to a bit of a slow start down there, he’s been better in the last couple games and apparently did enough to earn a call-up.
We’ll see where he slots in when the Senators return to the ice for practice on Monday at 10:00 AM.
