Battle of Ontario Begins at CTC

Less than 20 hours after they wrapped up a shootout loss against the Winnipeg Jets, the Ottawa Senators are right back at it against their provincial rivals in this season’s first edition of the Battle of Ontario.

The rivalry has been pretty tame on the ice in recent seasons but it’s always a rowdy night at Canadian Tire Centre when the Leafs and their fans roll into town.

It should be especially noisy in the rink tonight with the Red Scarf Union hoping to make their presence felt in 319.  Pretty rare to see the Leafs and Senators meet on a Sunday night.  Special circumstances obviously as the two teams are playing a make up game for the one that was postponed back on October 22.  This is a tough back to back for both teams with less than 24 hours between games.  Will be interesting to see if either team has much energy for this one.

A couple changes to Ottawa’s line up.  Bobby Ryan and Chris Phillips return after sitting out on Saturday night.  Erik Condra and Patrick Wiercioch will come out.  Here’s how Paul MacLean is expected to line up his team for this one.

Robin Lehner gets the start in the Ottawa goal.  Puck drop is scheduled for just after 6:00 PM with the game available on Sportsnet and on the radio at TSN1200.

-For those of you that haven’t been following along on Twitter, tonight is another Sens Money on the Board night organized by Bonks Mullet in support of the Sens Foundation.  To find out more about how you can get involved, head here.
