The Ottawa Senators came up short in their regular season opener on Wednesday night in Carolina.
They pushed a Hurricanes, viewed by many as Stanley Cup contenders, to the limit but unraveled a bit in the third period. On one hand, it’s just one loss and against a damn good hockey team but on the other hand, we’re dooooooooomed.
Or we were. But thankfully Alfie is here to save the day!
Daniel Alfredsson was a surprise guest at this morning’s practice and according to Steve Staios, we’re going to be seeing a lot more of him in the coming days.
Certainly sounds like there is going to be a bit of a feeling out process here as Alfredsson figures out exactly what his role is but he’s let it be known in the past that his interest is more on the player development side of things.
Having Alfredsson officially back in the fold is another big step forward for the organization.
Here’s how DJ Smith had his team lined up at this morning’s practice.
