Just a little something to get the week started right.
You have probably seen this video floating around for the last little while. It gets posted periodically in the comment section and last night I shared it on Twitter.
It’s every playoff overtime winner in the history of the Ottawa Senators.
And it’s basically the best 10 minutes and 50 seconds on YouTube.
Beginning with Daniel Alfredsson against the Sabres in 1997 and ending with Bobby Ryan’s breakaway backhander vs. the Penguins, it’s a fantastic recap of all the best moments in the history of the Senators.
It’s been almost four months since we last watched Sens hockey. And it’s going to be at least that long until we can start thinking about the possibility again.
These little strolls down memory lane are going to be important as we look for reminders of why we’re all here in the first place.
Do you remember all of them? How many were you in the building for? Do you have a favourite?
Man I miss Sens playoff hockey.
-Yesterday, we learned more details of the NHL’s incredibly complicated and ambitious “Return to Play” plan, including the specifics of Phase 3 and Phase 4. The plan outlines strict rules includes daily testing for all individuals inside the “bubbles” located in Edmonton and Toronto. When you factor in team personnel, that will be more than 1,200 tests a day. What the league is not saying much about at this stage is what happens when there is an outbreak within an individual team and how that might impact the league’s ability to move forward with the 24-team tournament. There is a reference to “uncontrolled outbreaks” and the need to “postpone, delay, move or cancel any games” but what they aren’t really saying is what happens if one team in the tournament is unable to continue.
