Senators Sign Bourgault, Boucher to Two-Way Deals

There has been a good amount of drama around these parts lately. It turns out legacy players leaving the organization can be a wee bit draining.

Nothing like a good ol’ fashion RFA contract or two to cleanse the palate.

Yesterday, the team announced that Xavier Bourgault has reached an agreement on a new one-year, two-way contract. The 23-year old forward is a former first round pick coming off a 57 point season in the American Hockey League. He also appeared in a couple games with the big club last year and will be looking to force his way into the lineup again this fall.

Bourgault will earn $850,000 at the NHL level or $265,000 on the farm.

Today, it was Tyler Boucher’s turn.

Another former first round pick, Boucher appeared in 47 games with the BSens last year. A step forward of sorts for a player that has battled injury issues through most of his pro career. Boucher has all the tools to be an NHL player and if he could just stay healthy, he really could battle for a spot on the team.

Maybe this is the year?!
