Ridly Greig Suspended for Two Games

Sens news is gonna be hard to come by the next few months so we better give this its own post.

Today, Ottawa forward Ridly Greig was suspended for two games for a sneaky lil uppercut to the jaw of Carolina defenceman Sean Walker. The incident took place in a chaotic second period in Game 4 of the first round series between the Senators and Hurricanes nine days ago.

“A forceful gloved punch” in the eyes of the league for which Greig “loaded up” and which was “roughing”. You can see the punch in slow motion and from a few different angles here. Despite some insiders suggesting Greig should be kicked out of the league, the Department of Player Safety has instead opted for a suspension of two regular season games.

You can also see the totally fine retaliation from Sean Walker here.

Greig will have a lot of time to think about his actions as the two-game suspension won’t actually be served until uh October.
