Game Day- Streaking Senators Visit Avalanche

Less than twenty-four hours after one of their most impressive wins of the season, the Ottawa Senators are right back at it against a talented yet underachieving Colorado Avalanche team.

The Senators roll into Colorado playing some of their best hockey of the season. They’ve now won three straight and picked up at least a point in six consecutive contests.  Ottawa continues to hold down that second spot in the Atlantic Division and have actually closed the gap a little bit on the first place Montreal Canadiens.

They’ll look to stay hot against the Avalanche tonight in Denver.

Despite having some incredible young talent up front, this Avs team has failed to recapture the magic of a couple of seasons ago.  They have some pretty serious holes on their blueline and often struggle on nights where they don’t get elite level goaltending.

They come into this one sporting an 8-12-1 record which has them sitting 28th overall in the NHL.  With that said, a team that features the likes of Nathan McKinnon, Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog should never be taken lightly.

Despite the back to back games, Dave Cameron plans to go with the same lineup tonight. And considering the way this team looked last night in Dallas, you can’t really blame him. Here’s how the Senators are expected to line up for this one.

Hoffman-Turris-Ryan
Prince-Zibanejad-Stone
Michalek-Pageau-Chiasson
Lazar-Smith-Neil

Methot-Karlsson
Cowen-Ceci
Borowiecki-Wideman

Craig Anderson makes another start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 9:30 PM so don’t forget that pre-game nap.
