Game Day- Anderson Starts vs. Blue Jackets

It’s only February 13th but…it’s time.

It’s a term we heard a lot of down the stretch last year and it seemed to bring out the best in the Ottawa Senators. And with a seven point gap between the Sens and the second Wild Card spot it’s time to bring out the big guns.

Tonight, the Ottawa Senators play the biggest game of the year!

Okay, okay. I recognize how silly that sounds. The Sens currently sit in 13th in the Eastern Conference. The Columbus Blue Jackets are 15th. But if the Senators are going to pull off another February/March/April miracle, this is a game they simply have to win. Otherwise the conversation will rightfully shift towards the Draft in June.

If this team can’t find a way to win against the Blue Jackets well then it’s probably just not meant to be. After tonight, the Sens return home for three straight too. Great time to go on a bit of a run.

Dave Cameron has his team on the ice for the morning skate and it looks like they’ll make one change from the line up the other night against the Avalanche. Chris Wideman draws back in and Patrick Wiercioch is the healthy scratch. Here’s how the Senators are expected to line up for this one.

Hoffman-Turris-Chiasson
Smith-Pageau-Stone
Prince-Zibanejad-Ryan
Dzingel-Lazar-Neil

Methot-Karlsson
Phaneuf-Ceci
Borowiecki-Wideman

Craig Anderson gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM.
