Sens Acquire Ben Bishop

(UPDATE 3:06 PM)- Couple notes heading into tonight's game vs. the Isles.  Robin Lehner will start in the Ottawa goal and Kyle Turris will not be suspended for his hit on Joe Corvo.

A night after Alex Auld gave up four goals to the Boston Bruins, the Ottawa Senators have acquired goaltender Ben Bishop from the St. Louis Blues.

With the move, the Sens add goaltending depth to the organization and with Craig Anderson sidelined indefinitely. give the organization some much needed depth in goal. A second round pick in 2013 is headed to the Blues.

With Robin Lehner considered to be the goalie of the future in Ottawa, Bishop provides the organization with some much needed depth between the pipes.  The Sens will not say it publicly, but they have not been thrilled with the season Lehner has had in Bingo so the move makes sense.

BY adding Bishop, the Senators have a guy that can push Robin Lehner. Bishop is considered to be the best goalie not currently playing in the NHL.

The Senators have also signed Ben Bishop to a one year, one way extension.
