Report- Svatos Talking to Zurich Lions

Soon to be an unrestricted free agent, waiver wire pick up Marek Svatos is currently in negotiations with the Zurich Lions of the Swiss League.  Bob Hartley recently signed on to coach the Lions next season.

Svatos played in 19 games with the Ottawa Senators, picking up three goals and two assists during his time with the team.

The news that Svatos is looking elsewhere for work shouldn’t really come as a big surprise.  Svatos was given an audition with the Sens down the stretch but did little impress during his brief stint in Ottawa. A one-time 30 goal scorer, Svatos has struggled the past few seasons and failed to regain the magic he had as a member of the Avalanche.

Ryan Shannon, Francis Lessard, Pacal Leclaire, Curtis McElhinney, David Hale, Mike Brodeur, Andre Benoit, Derek Smith and Ryan Keller are all scheduled to be UFAs.
