GAME DAY- Zibanejad’s 9th

The Ottawa Senators are on their first winning streak of the season.

They will look to notch a third straight victory when they visit Cam Ward, Eric Staal and the Carolina Hurricanes.  It won't be easy for the Sens though as they will play this one without their Captain, Daniel Alfredsson.

The absence of the Captain represents a good opportunity for other players to step up.  Kaspars Daugavins, who had a strong camp with the big club and continued that run in the early going in Bingo, will get his shot tonight.  Daugavins has been a leader down in Binghamton and has definitely earned this opportunity.

Obviously this is a big game for First Round pick Mika Zibanejad as it will be his 9th in the NHL.  Murray spoke with the media yesterday and gave the impression that he is still undecided on what to do with the 18 year old. It sounds Paul Maclean would like to keep him around here so it should be interesting to see what the Sens end up doing.

Was told earlier this morning that the team is leaning towards sending him back but want to wait and see what happens with a couple injured players first.  Murray also suggested that he could sit Zibanejad for a couple games before making a decision.

Here is how the Sens lined up at the morning skate…
