GAME DAY- Sens, Leafs at The Wheelhouse

After a long summer in the Nation’s Capital, the Ottawa Senators finally return to the ice at the Canadian Tire Centre.

It may just be a preseason but with the line up the Sens will ice and a familiar foe in the Toronto Maple Leafs as the opposition, it should be a fun preseason home opener at the CTC.  Still plenty of tickets left for those looking to see this one live but for those who can’t, we have the benefit of a national broadcast on TSN.

After games in Winnipeg and Saskatoon, it’s nice to finally see the Sens return home.  It also represents the home debut for the new Captain Jason Spezza and the biggest acquisition of the off season in forward Bobby Ryan.  The same Bobby Ryan who failed to crack ESPN’s Top 100 forwards list yesterday.

Have they revised that damn thing yet, by the way?

While the top line will be watched closely by the fans in attendance, a handful of other guys will be playing their first game of the preseason.  That group includes Greening, Zibanejad, Neil, Prince, Pageau, Petersson, Grant, Schneider, Wiercioch, Claesson, Wideman and the goalie Craig Anderson.

Here is how MacLean lined them up at the morning skate.

Craig Anderson makes his first start of the preseason in this one and is expected to play the first two periods.

Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM with all the action available on live television (TSN). Imagine that?! An actual TV broadcast of our Ottawa Senators. Now hockey is REALLY back!
