GAME DAY- Senators Travel to Toronto

After a somewhat excessive five day break between games, the Ottawa Senators continue their preseason schedule tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The last time these two teams met back at the CTC last Thursday, the Leafs got the better of the Sens by a 3-2 final.  Ottawa will be looking for a different result this time around despite icing a less than impressive line up against their provincial rivals.  The big line and Erik Karlsson will all sit this one out.

While the Sens aren’t icing their best line up, this will be an important game for a couple of the bubble players left in this year’s camp. Mark Stone is still in the mix to grab the right wing spot on that second line and will have a chance to audition for the role this evening. Andre Petersson, who has had a strong camp, will skate on what looks like the team’s second line with Da Costa and Colin Greening.

On defence, we’ll get a look at what should be the team’s second pairing when the season kicks off next month in Jared Cowen and Patrick Wiercioch. The second pairing of Borowiecki and Ceci is likely to get big minutes down in Binghamton.

Here is how MacLean lined up the rest of his guys up at the morning skate.

Robin Lehner gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Andrew Hammond will dress as his back up. No scheduled TV coverage for this one but rumour has it LeafsTV will be showing the game so there may be a stream or two that pops up.
