Game Day- Anderson Starts vs. Anaheim

The red hot Ottawa Senators continue their West coast swing this afternoon when they visit the surging Anaheim Ducks.

The Sens are 8-1-1 in their last ten and are fresh off an impressive win against the power house San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.  The Ducks are coming off an equally convincing 6-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday.

The Sens come into this afternoon's match up with the Ducks having picked up points in 11 straight road games, a stretch that dates back all the way to the start of December.

Meanwhile, the Ducks sit 13th in the Western Conference with 39 points but have been playing much better of late.  They've picked up six wins in their last 10 games and have scored 31 goals in their last 7 games.  That number is even more impressive when you consider they were shut out in one of those games.

Stephane Da Costa was recalled from Binghamton of the AHL yesterday but based on practice yesterday, it doesn't sound like he'll play.  There was some concern that Zack Smith and Kaspars Daugavins would both be out for this one but to the surprise of many, both skated at yesterday's practice.

Craig Anderson left practice early yesterday but will start for the Senators.  This will be his one millionth consecutive start in the Ottawa goal.  Anderson is 10-1-1 in his last 12 starts.

Remember puck drop is at 4:00 PM today.  The game can be seen on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.
