Bingo Draws Even

It was a game they had to have.

Down 1-0 in their series with the Manchester Monarchs, the Binghamton Senators desperately needed to get the split heading back to Bingo on Sunday. Fourth round pick Derek Grant gave them exactly what they needed with an overtime winner on Saturday night.

The Sens will now host the next three games in Binghamton, including Game three on Sunday night.

Binghamton trailed 2-0 through forty minutes but a big third period rally saved the series and took back home ice advantage in this first round series. The Sens got third period goals from Ryan Potulny, Ryan Keller and Kaspars Daugavins.

The BSens should have David Hale back in the line up for Game 3 but Corey Locke is likely to take a little while longer.

It’s may not be on the player side of things but there have been some surprising organizational changes from the Sens over the last few days. Phil Legault, long time communications and media guy for the Senators was let go on Wednesday.

They also fired Chad Schella, the team’s Director of Player services. It’s fair to say that both these moves caught players and media off guard and have left some people close to the organization shaking their heads.

All the best to a couple of loyal members of the Sens family
