Senators Open Preseason in Newfoundland

On Sunday, the Senators played a scrimmage game.  Today, they’ll officially start their preseason schedule.

It’s sort of a weird way to kick off the preseason but after a long summer, hockey in any format is much appreciated.

The Ottawa Senators will play host to the New York Islanders in a preseason split squad double header at the Mile One Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland.  Puck drop in the first game is scheduled for 1:30 PM and will feature Team A.  The second game is scheduled for 6:00 PM and will feature the training camp roster not playing in the opener.

Will try to add line up details to this post as they become available.  No television coverage but you can catch the games on the radio at TSN1200.

-There was a bit of a scare in yesterday’s scrimmage game when forward Bobby Ryan left after a collision with Kyle Turris.  The trainers were looking at him for a possible concussion but it sounded like everything was fine after the game.  Ryan talked about the injury afterwards and didn’t seem too concerned.  We should have an update on his status this morning.
