Prince Recalled from Binghamton

The Binghamton Senators were in Ottawa yesterday for their  annual game at the Canadian Tire Centre.  They won 5-2 thanks to two shorthanded goals from the recently demoted Jean Gabriel Pageau and they’ll now head to the Air Canada Centre for a rematch against the Marlies.

But they’ll be leaving their leading scorer behind.

Following last night’s game, the Senators announced that they have recalled forward Shane Prince from Binghamton of the American Hockey League.

Prince has been one of the bright spots on this year’s Binghamton team, racking up 38 points in 47 games so far this season.

The former Ottawa 67 was drafted in the 2nd round, 61st overall by the Senators back in 2011.  It hasn’t been an easy road to the NHL for Prince but he has certainly earned this call up.  Goes without saying but Prince is obviously thrilled to finally get the call.

Prince is expected to make his NHL debut tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes. Game Day post coming in a little bit.
