McCormick Recalled From Belleville

Early in the season, the injuries were piling up on the blueline. Now it seems like the forwards can’t stay healthy.

First it was Zack Smith going down with a minor upper body injury and now the team will be without Bobby Ryan for the next month.  With two forward spots open, the organization has again turned to Belleville for a little help.

This afternoon, Max McCormick was recalled from the American Hockey League.

Mark Borowiecki is a maybe for tomorrow night. If he can play, they’ll go with 11 forwards and 7 defenceman. If he can’t play, then McCormick gets a chance.

With two forwards out, Boucher will be forced to shuffle the deck a little bit up front.

And rather than try to load up a particular line, it seems like his preference is still to balance out the scoring as much as possible.  That means that both Nate Thompson and Alex Burrows could slide up a couple notches on the depth chart.

Colin White was taking a regular shift at practice but he’ll be heading down to Belleville for a stretch at some point the not too distant future.

Here’s how Boucher lined up his forwards at practice today.

Burrows-Brassard-Stone
Thompson-Turris-Dzingel
Hoffman-Pageau-Pyatt
Didomenico-Brown-White

With a back to back coming up later this weekend, Boucher suggested that he’d like to split the next four starts. That means Mike Condon gets the start in goal tomorrow and probably again on Friday against the New Jersey Devils.
