Game Day- Struggling Senators Visit Leafs

There has been a lot of talk about rock bottom lately.

As the season hits the half-way point, media and fans are wondering just how far this team can fall. Wondering just how bad it can get. A six-goal loss to the last place team in the Central Division might feel like a pretty strong candidate for rock bottom but there have been so many ugly losses through the first 41 games of the season.

There was that home ice humbling at the hands of the Habs. That debacle in Winnipeg. The no-show in San Jose. The beatdowns vs. Beantown.

So many to choose from. And as we all wonder just how low the 29th place Ottawa Senators can go…another game day! This time, the Sens visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on a back to back.

No game day skate today so we won’t know the specifics of the line up until later today and we may not have any line combinations until right around puck drop.

Bobby Ryan left last night’s game with a finger injury if you can believe it and he will not play tonight. Based on how they shuffled the lines in the third period, it could be an opportunity for Colin White to take some shifts in the team’s top six.  The team has also recalled Filip Chlapik.

Mark Borowiecki took the pregame warm-up and is technically ready to return but won’t play tonight.

A best guess at the line up for now

Craig Anderson gets the start in goal for Ottawa. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM.
