Game Day- Tkachuk Returns as Senators Host Golden Knights

While the hockey world continues to obsess over that time a bunch of Ottawa Senators talked about their penalty kill, the players have turned their attention back to the whole hockey playing thing.

They roughed up the New Jersey Devils pretty good on Tuesday night, sending a strong message that they will not let this latest sideshow become a distraction. Led by Captain-elect Mark Stone and his developing mustache, the Senators turned in what was probably their best effort of the season a couple nights ago.

They’ll look to build on that when they play host to the Las Vegas Posse tonight at the Canadian Tire Centre.

See the thing about this Vegas team is I really want to see them lose. And lose a lot.

As great a story as they were last year, it hardly seems fair that they were able to skip the first couple years of expansion team pain that we endured here in Ottawa. Sure they had similarly dorky pregame ceremonies (that everybody liked for some reason) but where was the 38 game road losing streak?!

Actually, they’ve lost three straight on the road. Only 35 more to go!

Anyway, enough about them.

The Senators are expected to go with a similar line up to the one they used the other night against New Jersey.

OH EXCEPT BRADY TKACHUK IS BACK!

You remember that little shit-disturbing teenager don’t you? You know, the guy who sits 11th in rookie scoring despite only playing four games. Yea, he’s playing tonight. Tkachuk was a regular participant in practice again today and afterwards declared himself ready to go. If he isn’t playing, I pity the poor soul that has to tell him as much.

They’ll go with 11/7 tonight with Mark Borowiecki drawing back in.  That means one of McCormick, Paajarvi or Pyatt sits.  Bobby Ryan and Craig Anderson both missed yesterday’s practice but were back on the ice today.

Line combinations were hard to come by this morning so we’ll wait till game time to see how Boucher lines ’em up.

Craig Anderson is expected to start in goal tonight because Damian Rhodes is busy. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM.

The game is available on TSN5, RDS2, TSN1200 and if you really want to send a message, go to the game, log into the stadium wifi and stream it LIVE on your phone. It would cost them a fortune.

Now everyone gather round the SensChirp Table. Cicero, will you please say grace?
