Game Day- Senators Host Devils at CTC

They’re baaaaaaaack.

It has been five long days since the Sens last played a hockey game. After an extended break, perhaps a quick recap is in order.

The Ottawa Senators are a professional hockey franchise operating in the National Hockey League. They played their inaugural season in 1992-1993. Since then, they have amassed a record of 939-896-115-156. They have made the playoffs 16 times in their franchise history, posting a 72-79 record.

This season, they are mostly bad. But not as bad as people expected. And maybe not as bad as people wanted them to be. But still pretty bad. Except on some nights, when they look like the best 27th place team in the history of hockey.

Tonight, they host the New Jersey Devils.

While the Detroit Red Wings appear to be running away with the 31st overall spot, tonight’s opposition is one of the few teams that looks like they have what it takes to give the Wings a run for their money in the second half. The Devils sit 30th and have a goal differential of -38. They’ve fired a coach, traded their best player and occasionally just don’t even show up at the rink for games.

The Senators made a couple roster moves during the break. Logan Brown is back in Belleville while JC Beaudin and Christian Jaros are both up with the big team.

Here’s how the Senators are expected to line up for this one.

Tkachuk-Pageau- C.Brown
Ennis-Tierney-Duclair
Namestnikov-Anisimov-White
Paul-Beaudin -Sabourin

Chabot-Goloubef
Borowiecki-Brannstrom
Englund-Jaros

Craig Anderson gets the start in goal for the home side.

Puck drop is scheduled for just after 5:00 PM with the game available on TSN5, RDS2 and on illegal stream websites across the information super highway.

And now, the HEAD2HEAD table, just in the nick of time.
