Game Day- Senators Chase Division Lead in Montreal

A lot has changed since these two teams last saw each other less than a week ago.

After a disappointing shootout loss and then a one-sided game the next night, it looked like the Atlantic Division was all wrapped up for the Montreal Canadiens. Their fans sang that stupid song. Chugged their Molson Ex. Probably flipped a cop car or two. Yes indeed, they celebrated like it was 1993.

Not so fast, idiots.

Thanks to wins over the Bruins and Penguins, the Senators again have a chance to take over top spot in the Division.

In this section of the game day post I usually share a couple interesting stats about the opposition. But it’s the Montreal Canadiens, so who gives a shit.

On Ottawa’s side, they should get a huge boost from the return of their best forward, Mark Stone. He’s been nursing a lower body injury for the last couple weeks but it looks like he’s ready to rejoin the team. Viktor Stalberg missed the morning skate and may be the one that comes out.

A best guess at the line up…

Burrows-Brassard-Stone
Smith-Turris-Ryan
Hoffman-Pageau-Pyatt
Dzingel-Kelly-Wingels

Claesson-Karlsson
Phaneuf-Ceci
Borowiecki-Wideman

Craig Anderson gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM unless they do one of their stupid ceremonies, in which case it will be closer to 9:00 PM.

God, I hate the Montreal Canadiens.
