Game Day- Florida Swing Continues in Sunrise

That ugly winning streak was finally snapped last night in Tampa Bay. And now the Ottawa Senators look to start a different kind of streak.

Just 24 hours after a shootout win over the Lightning, the Senators travel to Sunrise to take on the Florida Panthers. The playoffs are beyond a pipe dream at this point but based on the reaction of the players last night, you can tell they still have some fight left in them and want to go on a bit of a run to end the season.

With 11 games left, the Senators probably need to win…well all of them.

Patrick Wiercioch will draw in on defence. Chris Phillips left last night’s game and was labelled doubtful by Head Coach Paul MacLean. The plan was to get Wiercioch into one of these games either way to this just makes the decision easier for MacLean. Mika Zibanejad will miss tonight’s game with an upper body injury. Matt Kassian takes his spot. Bobby Ryan misses a second straight game due to injury. No morning skate for the Senators today so we’ll have to wait until game time to see how they’ll line up.

And then some combination of Greening, Smith, Neil, Hoffman, Condra and Kassian. Will be interesting to see what MacLean does with the bottom six. I suspect we’ll see him roll three lines but that can be tough in a back to back.  Greening can play centre in a pinch, as  can Condra.
