Just two days after a shutout against the Vancouver Canucks, starting goaltender Craig Anderson has left the team to deal with a personal matter at home.
Understandably, details are not being provided at this point but the organization has made it clear that they’ll give Anderson as much time as he needs. Anderson was also away from the team during Training Camp for personal reasons.
The quote from General Manager Pierre Dorion certainly makes it seem like it could be a long-term thing.
With the support of the entire organization, we’ve provided Craig with a leave of absence so that he can attend to a personal matter at home,” said Senators general manager, Pierre Dorion. “While we are uncertain of how long Craig may be away, he will continue to have our support for as much time as is needed. We will respect his privacy and will have no further comment at this time.”
The team has recalled goalie Chris Driedger from Binghamton of the American Hockey League.
