CONDRA SIGNS TWO YEAR DEAL

The Ottawa Senators have taken care of some of their RFA business, signing forward Erik Condra to a two year deal. The contract is a one way deal meaning that the club expects Condra to be a regular with the big club next season.

(UPDATE 1:03 PM)- Sens GM Bryan Murray has made a minor splash in the free agent market, signing tough guy and former Ottawa 67 Zenon Konopka to a one year, one way deal. The contract pays Konopka $700,000 next season.  He is a hard working guy that was great on faceoffs last year.  Make the Sens bottom six a little more crowded but a solid pick up.

Sens Quiet on Day 1 of Free Agency

As expected, Day One of Free Agency was quiet for the Ottawa Senators.

Goalies were being scooped up at a rapid pace and in the end the Sens ended up inking a familiar face to play the role of back up to Craig Anderson next season.

Free Agency Opens Tomorrow

(UPDATE 2:16 PM)- Another one of the top names has been crossed off the list of UFAs available as the Carolina Hurricane have announced the signing of Jussi Jokinen.  He would have received a few offers tomorrow but has instead decided to stay in Raleigh. There were some rumours suggesting Ottawa may have been interested.
