Sens Close Out Perfect Weekend

Written by SensChirp
With the Eastern Conference standings as tight as they are, a four point weekend is exactly what the Ottawa Senators needed. Robin Lehner stopped 25 of 26 shots, Daniel Alfredsson had two assists, Jakob Silfverberg scored twice and the Senators finally played a game that wasn't decided by a single goal as they cruised to a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Game Day- Sens on St. Patrick's Day

Written by SensChirp
After a big win in Buffalo on Saturday afternoon the Sens return home for a St Patty's Day date with the Winnipeg Jets. Coming into Sunday, the Sens are just two points clear of the Jets but because Winnipeg leads their division, they hold third place in the Eastern Conference. Two huge points on the line at SBP.

Follow the Leaders

When stars in Spezza, Karlsson, Anderson, and Michalek went down to injury, and with Cowen already on the shelf, experts across the National Hockey League were quick to write off the Ottawa Senators. Without their top centre, top defenceman, leading goal scorer and starting goalie, how could the Senators possibly stay competitive in the lockout shortened season?  While it would be easy to point to the outstanding goaltending (obviously a huge part), you can’t overlook the job this team’s leadership group has done under incredible adversity.

Ottawa Signs Defenceman Michael Sdao

Written by SensChirp
The Ottawa Senators announced another signing this morning, inking Princeton defenceman Michael Sdao to an entry level contract. Drafted in the 7th round back in 2009 by the Senators, Sdao just wrapped up his final season at Princeton, picking up 15 points in 31 games.  The big, physical defenceman, who's not afraid to drop the gloves, will join the Binghamton Senators on an amateur tryout agreement.

Stone Returned to Binghamton

Written by SensChirp
Mentioned it was likely in last night’s post game wrap up but with the addition of Matt Kassian earlier this week, the Sens have returned Mark Stone to Binghamton. Stone wasn’t playing a whole lot here in Ottawa and at this stage in his career, would certainly benefit from increased minutes down in Binghamton.  Stone is a guy labeled as a scorer so six minutes a night on the fourth line obviously isn’t the ideal situation for him right now.
