As good as the Rangers have been, they are coming off an ugly loss at the hands of Devils on Tuesday night and should be a motivated group. The Senators hold a 2-1-0 record against New York this season with the only loss coming at SBP back in November.
Tonight’s game kicks off a stretch that will see the Sens play six of their next eight games within the friendly confines of SBP. If Ottawa is going to have any chance of chasing down the teams in front of them, they need to get hot on home ice.
Ben Bishop will make his second straight start in the Ottawa goal. While Bishop did give up a couple goals I’m sure he’d like to have back, he did a fine job of settling in as the game moved along. Bishop made a couple of key stops in the third period to preserve the Sens lead.
Martin Biron will start for the Rangers.
Chris Phillips and Jim O’Brien will both play tonight which makes Carkner, Butler and Konopka the healthy scratches. Here is how the Sens are expected to line up.
Greening-Spezza-Michalek
Klinkhammer-Turris-Alfie
Daugavins-Smith-Condra
Foligno-O'Brien-Neil
Kuba-Karlsson
Cowen-Gonchar
Phillips-Gilroy
Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM with all the action available on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.

Over the past few season, nobody has been as active in the NCAA free agency market as Ottawa Senators GM Bryan Murray.
We have seen him pursue the likes of Jesse Winchester, Bobby Butler and Stephan Da Costa and according to an interview with Tim Murray on Tuesday night, the Senators are looking at a few options again this year.
Here is what I’ve been able to dig up in terms of NCAA free agents the Sens are rumoured to be looking at, including two defenceman and one forward.
Matt Tennyson, a 6’2 defenceman playing at Western Michigan, Cameron Schilling- a 21 year old defender out of Miami and JT Brown, a forward playing at Minnesota-Deluth are all believed to be on the team's radar. It's entirely possible that the Sens have their eyes on some other guys as well but these are a few of the names out there.
The name that comes up most often in this year’s NCAA class, 6’8 Andrej Sustr seems to also make sense as a potential target. This article posted on the CBC website suggests the Sens may have some interest.
He could play the leader of the "Arsehole Team" in any Hollywood movie.
Btw i had posted this last on the ncaa post:
I'm just reading comments and one thing that comes to mind is that my father is a leafs fan and not by choice, he was a habs fan when i was a kid but he said that local tv, cbc, tsn and sportsnet usually show leafs games and that since he's a hockey fan he's got no choice but to be a leafs fan if he wants to watch hockey.
I think i'll be a good son next season and get him a center ice package then he's got no excuse and can root for the sens too.
There could be others stuck in that sinking ship tv viewing area and other teams could soon gain an audience, the nhl needs to fix the ontario black out area's since it is in the same province, i'm sure hockey fans would like a choice of what they watch without paying $260 for it.
Especially with garon going down last game... Are the hockey gods finally smiling upon us after those ridiculous reffing displays out west?
I think playing Butler on the 3rd or 4th line is a waste so they may as well pressbox him. Condra hasn't been great but he's at least responsible defensively.
If they like an NCAA guy over someone else already in the org then they sign him. And then potentially trade someone to free up room or just keep someone in the AHL fighting for a spot.
That being said, certainly would expect them to focus on D guys over forwards unless they feel they've found some sort of blue chip forward.
e in superstions.
Hey Sharmarke, the quote stay on top, you write underneath it, you've done this several times now and its bugging me haha, just looks weird!
Yeah. If some team's starting goaltender was out, nobody trusted the backup, so they threw two rookies into the fire... one of them shut out Boston and the other shut out the Rangers? Now that would be a pretty tantalizing goaltender controversy...
Great to see Greening continue on Spezza's line as well, I think the line runs a lot smoother with him there.
GO SENS GO!!!
Why does Maclean like using FOligno on the 4th line so much?
I don't see why he should not be in top 6 alongside turris
Foligno tends to lose the puck, go offside and take dumb penalties when he plays on the top 2 lines, not sure why but it just happens that way.
Maybe the Murray's are trying to keep his next contract reasonable.
With top 6 minutes Foligno would be a 50-60 point guy which will get 3-4 million a year.
Foligno has 40 points on the year and hasn't cracked the top 6, those are good stats IMO.
I know you are kidding, but I too find it very odd that we keep trying different players on the top two lines every single game, yet Foligno has never been been that promotion since his last demotion... it is odd especially since I thought Turris had his best games with Foligno
NHL Gamecenter is $20 per month. Every hockey fan with a job and a high speed internet connection should have a subscription. The Sens games on Sportsnet are never blacked out. only nationally televised games on CBC and TSN/TSN 2 are blacked out.
I guess if you are not living in the Ottawa area then it would be great. But 81/82 games were on TV this season.
SUCK IT PHANEUF
The so-called experts may not give them much of a chance but when the puck drops tomorrow night, it’s just a hockey game. Two teams, six players a side, and all bets are off. With Craig Anderson in goal, and a number of kids and established veterans with something to prove, this Sens team is going to be competitive every time they hit the ice.
I’ve learned my lesson with predictions in the past but I will say this- The Ottawa Senators are going to surprise some people this season. Eastern Conference elite? Obviously not. But this team will be competitive and I think anyway, could be in the mix for a playoff spot.
With Rogers you can get the Ultimate Sports pack, which is MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL, Nascar, OHL, EVERY GAME for $26 a month.
Nobody can be that cheap.
8 years of a rebuild... 45 years since the finals!
that means if you are 50 you probably cannot remember being in the finals,
and if you are teenager today, you probably have nevcannnot remember seeing the Leafs in the playoffs... and counting!
Whereas you could be and 8 year old Sens fan and have seen both... Sorry Leaf fans but I love it!
I bought a shaw direct dish when i moved to my new house (same city), and it came with SNET-E...now I have every sens game available :-\ ... little embarrassed I didn't know to do this sooner
Biron doesn't always beat us but he always plays well against us.
The Rangers, like the Leafs, are the only other team to get the "Home Call" on the road.
Note: Hockey attitudes can change 180 degrees in the space of one contract year.
Chirp, picked Ottawa for seventh (7th) by beating up and beating out both the Habs and the Leafs. "Ya could feel it!" The hockey gods were messaging.
Yea man my bad, im still learning, i think i got it now. but i still dont even know how to like/dislike comments.
I bet your cable bill is more than $20 a month though
yes well done Chirp, but I have to say that I too predicted this, and even went one step further put my money where my mouth (typing) is, and made a friendly wager with our friendly neighbourhood Tookie!
can't wait to claim my (our) prize :)
What was the prize??
Thanks
I have bell with nhl center ice at my house, my father has cable, and won't spend anymore money on "tv channels" since tv was free back in the day. old people are cheap like that.
I agree game center is a good deal, but i prefer center ice.
My point is some people are stuck watching the leafs. The sens and leafs should be on local channels in ontario.
Chirp you mean you don't know yet?
Maybe we should wait for Tookie to tell you... Nah I can't wait.
Before the start of the year, as you are well aware there was plenty of banter over how our Sens would do in a rebuild year.
Well Tooks we all know made it very clear we should finish near last.
I was of the opinion that with a real goalie, a new coach, young kids who would bust their butts anything can happen, even the playoffs.
So we made a friendly wager, I said they make it in, he says not a chance.
Loser changes their name to "I know nothing about hockey"
And my good man says he is a man of his word, and I believe him
Go Sens Go!!!
His play hasn't really been such that he absolutely deserves top 6 time either - though I do think he has it in him to be a 2nd line guy and he did a great job in his brief stint as #2 center.
Sens tonight... 67's tomorrow... Sens on Saturday... it's all about hockey.. and then add the Heritage Train to Mtl next week.. I'm sure getting a week full of hockey... love it...
Hopefully Bishop is over his jitters and plays a good game...
A lot of games tonight that will affect the standings for the Sens... too bad they still don't have the out of town scoreboard fixed at SBP.
Yeah but when was our last Cup? You say it like we won a Cup...
1967 to 2012 IS pretty damn long but its less than 1927 to 2012...
Hell nobody in the Sens ORG (Orignal or Current) can even say they saw a Cup in Ottawa.
Terrific. You are a great fan Sandy. Sports teams appreciate fans like you. A great week coming up for you and I hope you have a lot of fun (and enjoy a few wins too).
I see one game a year, either in Dallas or Phoenix. This year it was in Dallas in Dec (Sens lost). By the time I get from the boat to Zihuatanejo airport, to México City, to Dallas, a hotel for two nights and then back it ruins the old pocketbook. But will do it again next year. Have a great week!!!
Depends what YOU mean by "our".
well we've only been trying for 20 years... so that's pretty good. Also we at least went to the finals not long ago, which is more than they can say.
Not to mention our countless playoff appearances (even though they were fails)
This year was fun. Playoffs will be a bust after the 2nd round but that doesn't matter. Our boys are learning together and getting better.
Better than firing our coach after giving him a new contract. I hope Burke is gone at the end of the year.
I also hope we sign this 6'8 dman from NCAA. Put him and Bishop as a 3rd line pairing... keep lehner and andy in nets.
Hahaha. Nice one Hax!
So we done it once, you make it sound like were in the Cup final every year...I recall the Laffs sending us to play golf 4 times in a row in the playoffs. The only way I look at it is Cup wins, not playoff appearances.
I dont have time to check playoff success but I think it would be pretty close, slight edge to Laffs for beating us 4-5 times in a row when we faced them.
Why in the world do you so ferociously argue against the Senators? I don't believe you are a Leaf fan like some are suggesting but you are some kinda twisted Sens fan.
And who do you think made them "fails" more time that not...the Laffs.
My point is we cant brag, we got no Cup.
now now dont be putting words in my mouth, I said cup final, and the ride there is half the fun my friend, but you should know that you were part of that ride in 06-07, right?
Like I said you would have to be 50 years old if you are a leafs fan to remember that ride to the finals, whereas, my 13 year old remembers the Sens ride very well!
Wait a minute I did say sorry to ALL leaf fans... why is yoru nose out of joint?
Success of the teams I would say Sens and Leafs are equal since like you say neither have cups
If you look at it from a fan perspective over the past 20 years I would rather be a sens fan. More playoff appearances, including cup final and ECF as well. Plus we have had opportunity of playing Crosby 3 times in the playoffs. Granted we lost to the leafs 4 times, but in each of those 4 times the Leafs lost the very next round, for whatever its worth.
Anyways from a fans perspective, its clear its more fun and worthwhile being a sens fan over leafs, but from a success standpoint, its a tie since we have both come up emtpy
Because his comments were inadequate, he so passionately pisses on Leafs with Stanley Cup talk while we dont even have 1 (modern) to brag about. It just makes you look like a homer fan.
I dont mind if you piss on any team, I wouldnt care if he said Leafs suck and bla bla bla, but dont bring the Cup into it or even the streak, as the Sens is even longer (If you know the Sens complete history).
Tookie, since you are so very quick to jump down anyone else's throat when they get their stats wrong, turn about is fair play. If you are going to BASH our AWESOME senators, at least get your information straight.
The leafs beat is three (not 4) years in a row in the playoffs and 4 times in 5 years...
http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=ottawapost
I mean, seriously, it's one thing to come on here and start saying the crap you do... but, for the love of GOD, at least do your research first!!! C'mon, it's just sad.
It's not about bragging - it's just acknowledging that the leafs suck. I would tell them suck even if they were marching down Younge street with the cup.
Because some "fans" enjoy predicting the worst. If it happens, they can say, "I told you so" and feel good about themselves. If it does not happen, they can still be happy as a fan of the team.
yah Took... you are either a HATFIELD or a McCOY, you cant be both bro...its one or the other, and the feud lateley is well on the Sens side right now,
Go Sens Go!!!
Good analogy.
LOL totally.
Chirp - ignore button?
Denis, this time I disagree, it is Tooks that is getting all riled up... not sure why though we Sens are having great year so far :)
And by the way I care about the bet, it will be sweet irony have my friend Took post his full of wisdom facts under the name "I know nothing about hockey"
No?
No
Is this anywhere near Sudbury?
It's been 27 years since the 'active' Ottawa Senators Hockey Club has won a cup.
Oh btw - Hax you made me laugh when you asked which team Tookie was referring to.
Sens fans in Toronto - hit Shoeless Joes on King West @ Duncan. There will be a couple of us there tonight.
Bust, Buster, Neutral? lol.
We don't seem to learn our lesson with them NCAA undrafted college kids, eh? Those 3 mentioned offered almost nothing except few good bounces in few games. When can we just focus rebuilding with what we have in our drafted prospects rather then scoping out no named kids who achieve small time fame because of Spezza centering them?
LETS GET STOOPID IN HERE!
Cya at the game!
Should be a good one
Last meeting with the Rangers was in January and we won 3-0 in NY
Lets do more of the same at home
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!
Because if I dont this blog is boring as hell. This is no dis to SC, he posts great insight, its the fans that are boring as hell.
We needed something other than Bishop/Lehner talk thats so yesterday!
I like to see people actually show signs of life on a Sens blog.
Because Foligno is a first round BUST! Things just never worked out for him in Ottawa. TRADE!!!
Just wanted to say I'm hoping for a BIG game by Bishop tonight. Go Sens Go!!!!
about many aspects of the great game of hockey.
The only problem with Tookie, is that he "too opiniated" and is sometimes vey condescending on some posters with his choice of words.
Whenever he is embarassed, or has no answer to someone's
argument, he sinply stops writing, and quickly evaporates
by disappearing !!
Right Tookie ???
Hee Hee !
The Leafaroos haven't handled expansion very well.
It's all been downhill since they traded Frank Mahovolich.
You have to admit though, at least Tookie brings an opinion to the table. I'd rather someone we could argue with than a effing drone homer who doesn't appreciate the SPORT as a whole and only spits out "facts" about their own team.
Keeps things interesting around here. Yeah he's not positive 100% of the time but that's life.. If an analyst or expert is going to say our team is shit, I actually want to hear why they think that, and how they came to that conclusion. We get way too wrapped up emotionally with sports that logic, reason, and rationale goes out the window.
But that's also what's great about sports, competition.. you can only predict what will happen, but once the game starts.. It's anyones game to win. It's so much easier being on the sidelines than in the game.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I wasn't criticising you Tookie, I just don't get why people flip out over your opinions. You and I have even agreed on a few things in the past. I just think people need to stop with the "I'm right/your wrong" rhetoric and understand that we are all going to disagree from time to time on the direction of the club or player personnel decisions. Some people just take the discussions off the rails when they're arguing their opinions.
Sens win 3-1 and Bishp stand on his head!
Never did understand that expression...
have you ever tried it?
If you can do that, stoping pucks is easy... but in his case all his goalie pads will be over the crossbar!
Hey Tooks... enjoy the banter, all in good fun pal,
have a great time at the game!
Really? I always assumed it just meant the goalie had to do some wacky acrobatics to keep his team in the game.
Now the "kill two birds with one stone" expression always baffled me until I saw this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihL2_v1ALyQ
He was skating well on the first line, but he wasn't getting into scoring position at all. I think Daug and Condra are garbage and a lot of the reason Zack Smith is struggling.
Here's hoping they put some wins together and finish 9th!
http://www.sportsnet.ca/podcast/marek_wyshynski/
Their topic of bringing back the red line would be bad for King Karl IMO seeing as though he excels at the stretch pass.
Good podcast though for sure. Thanks for the link.
I sort of disagree. With no red line just about anyone can start a stretch pass, if it came back it would take someone of EK65's skill to make a good one. Stretch passed existed before the red line came out - they were just harder to do.
Not that I advocate bringing the red line back - just saying Karlsson can do what most players cannot. So a tougher rule hurts him less.
In his defence, he still is great at reading plays in the offensive zone and jumping into the play better than most without getting caught very often. So, he would still have that aspect.
I do agree with most of what Hax said to though but do fear that Canucnik could be right in his points.
I thought the statue of Alfie shooting the puck at NEidermeyer was pretty funny.
Murray the two areas that Murray still need to shore up are defence and forwards at the draft.
I would like to see Murray draft Tom Wilson with the first with the Senators first round pick.
In words of Ron White "You can't fix stupid!"
FREEBIRD !
Tookie, I have an original 1927 program signed by all the Original Senators players. The adverts in it are amazing.
Fuck you you fag!
Get lost you dumbass! Do you know how fucking to say anything else you fag!?
FREE BIRD !
You are a loser also don't start you fuking fag!
You are a fucking fag!
FREEBIRD!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=np0solnL1XY
Fuck you! You are a loser too!
Fuck You!
SMITTY!!!!
Happily accept the goal, of course.
FREE BIRD !!!!!!!!
Everybody knows the bird is the word!
Why all the thumbs downs??? The guy is 6'7". It looks funny how big his legs are hence leaving a 5-hole big enough for a beachball to roll through. He obviously knows how to close it. Wasn't a negative comment on him.
Secondary scoring is back!
Go Sens Go!
I think that smell is coming from about four hours down the 401.
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO
That is verging on anorexic thin...I am 5-6 inches shorter and have 20 pounds on hum...and I am not an overly large guy
I haven't heard jackshi%t about chara , weber, or lidstrom doing anything astounding like Karlsson
I heard that he has another month of relegation games to play
His season is over on April 8th as he has to play a relegation round now to determine his teams status in the league.
Maybe for the playoffs...
Every game he gets a stupid penalty in the opposite zone
Thumbs down all you want its true
He's been excellent.
Nope...17 shots.
yup I get it now!
yes he is playing really well, as is Condra Smith and Daug you wonder is some had a talking to
Why yes actually, North Bay....big leafs homer town :(
All he has to do is put his arms on top of his goal stick and lean on it... and win 5 stanley cups... wouldnt that be nice!
TURRIS!!!!!
Much like Sudbury... :(
if we lose u guys can blame it on me
Quoting SensFanInMTL:
and I must admit Gilroy is better than I first thought
Best game of the season for Cowen
Kuba is huge on PK
Bishop is just huge
His next career will be playing coach of the "evil team" in Hollywood sports movies.
NY HOPED they had scored after they pulled their goalie, in that flurry in front of the net, but Big Ben Bishop held down the fort, and didn't even look close
Great game by Bishop and Sens against another top team,
and I was off by one empty net goal on my prediction on tonights game,
We needed that one.
I was worried when they pointed to center ice that it was actually a NYR goal.
They must've thought the blue team the Sens played tonight was their team. ;)
are you sure it was a T and not an F?
never understood what they hope to accomplish by doing such stupid things?
other than let all know
"Yes I cheer for losers... and love it"
Game looked great from the screen, what was it like live Hax?
Did Spezzafan19 just reveal his name "Alex" on the team 1200 in the form of an email? Fan email suggesting that the sens should draft Tom Wilson...
If so then, hello there Alex!
This is the same at all the games.. I worked as an usher for 3 seasons, there was always at least one leafs jersey at every game. Never failed...
I don't understand it, never will but it is leaf fans I suppose..
Actually live it was a bit boring at times - only 7 shots through 2 periods. Not like watching NJ play or anything but not super exciting. The third was much better all around though.
@Smash - yeah there's always at least one attention-seeke r at every game. Always fun to hit them with "4 decades of failure!", "Do you remember the playoffs?" or the old classic "Leafs Suck!".
that was his size 2 years ago. he now weighs in at just under 220lbs. but for 6'8 he should be closer to 245.. so yeah he is still a twig
and why would his age matter. hes a college player, most of them are early to mid 20s, look at names like greening whos a 25 year old rookie. sustr is 21.
http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=44405
They somehow, more than doubled shots on goal in 3rd period, by getting 15 shots to finish with 22.
Rangers took 26 shots in total.
Like the Ottawa Citizen said, "Sens don't waste bullets".
Scoring came from Smith's line 3, ( Smith and Foligno ) and Turris line 2.Spezza got an empty netter to seal the win
Bishop played as well as expected, while Biron did not have good results.
We are now close to Boston's 83 points to our 80 points,
but they have played 66 games to our 69.
Bring on Buffalo on Saturday night in Ottawa.
GO SENS GO !!!!!!!!!!!!
It was probably just tookie ;)
I missed the game, How was Bishop? I mean he only let in one, but I'm not a "stat" guy, how well did he actually play? sounds like he had a solid one...
Yeah a lot better than the Tampa game, I still found he played "small" at times for his size, but you can definitely see the potential, once he masters the positioning, he will be very tough to score on...
I guess i'm nitpicking too though, because he was pretty solid... LOL luxuries of having 3 capable tenders!
Do you seriously give a crap? I wore my alfie jersey to a vancouver vs Dallas game. Some people just love to complain
Thanks, good to hear :)
It's funny, I found him "small" in Tampa as well, but I honestly think he's solid (Maybe Lehner just plays so big in comparison, not that I'm implying that I think Lehner should get the role).
So one prospect shuts out the mighty Bruins and another keeps the league leading Rags to just one goal. The kids are alright, and the future between the pipes is looking bright!
When Klinkhammer came out for his star selection we hollered "UNLEASH THE KLINKHAMMER!" and he had the hugest smile on his face, skated right over to our section and passed his stick over the glass to a little kid in the front row.
No reason we can't keep the pedal to the metal and win at least 3 of the next 4. Should be interesting to see how things pan out in the standings, we really do have a decent shot at 6th, if not the Northeast!
We have 2 very capable young goalies, who will be available as backup goalies to Craig Anderson.
Anderson is practising with the team, will soon have his stitches removed, and when I saw him give a handshake
in a clip on TV, he was not afraid to grab the hand he was shaking!
He will most likely start playing in 2 weeks or so, just
in time to get ready for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
I do not think it matters who they face in Round One,
as they will be a serious contender.
GO SENS GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!
So what happens now? does BM continue rotating the two back and forth between Bingo until Anderson is ready? Personally, I think Bishop should hold the fort until next week at least. We have 4 games in the next two weeks, all are divisional and important. The most important being the Montreal/Toront o back to back next weekend. If they are going to swap the guys around, that would be the time to do it.
Was very happy to see Turris light the lamp, and Folingo getting his 1st (none empty net) in awhile. Those are the type of goals that help build confidence and keep the lines rolling.
Keep up the hard work guys, time to slay the Buffalo!!!
Wow, I was way too wasted to come on here last night. Great win, I feel like the Rangers played soft, ya know, playoff spot locked in, home ice advantage locked in, there were really playing through the motions and with Biron in nets...
Not to take away from the Sens as I think they played hard, they have to, to stay in the 7th-8th spot or risk missing out.
Nice to have goals from Smith, Foligno and Turris, all had been snake bitten...hopefu lly this gets them going.
I'm not a Vancouver fan but the biggest surprise to me has to be both Sedins sitting under 70 points this late into the season, nothing like previous years. Have we seen them reach the max potential, or was this a result of Vancouver trying to balance out the lines a little more? Maybe the addition of Hodgson (now gone) this year on a 3rd line was the cause, because in the past Vancouver only relied on the top 2 lines for scoring. This could have lowered the scoring expectations of the top line somewhat. It looks ike they'll finish somewhere in the 70, 80 point range, last time they were under 80 points was the 07-08 season.
And neither vancouver or Dallas are rivals to Ottawa, while leaf fans know that wearing their ugly blue jersey to SBP will get them attention. Hell a dude wore his Sundin jersey to the WWE event a while back and played "crowd heel" all night.
If you don't see the difference between you wearing a Sens jersey to a western conference game and a dbag wearing his Tucker jersey to a Sens game, then I guess we should just move on.
IMO he looked a little nervous early and looks kinda awkward in general (but that's because he's so big I think - picture Tyler Myers in goalie gear). He looked much better late in the game though and while I'm not prepared to say we don't need Lehner (I still think Lehner has more upside) he certainly was a great pickup. If nothing else he's a guy who can push Lehner, but I can see that he might actually win the backup job next year and push Anderson - but it's too early to get that excited.
I agree with you Hax, I always thought his movements were clunky, slow but its probably just his size. He tends to drop to his knees way to early, like on the first goal, guy is in the corner, NO WAY he even has a shot from there and Bishop is already on his knees as the puck goes passed him to Cally and he can only make a desperate attempt. Stand up, slide across and its and easy save. I think Bishop will be the back up next year, with Anderson #1. Lehner in Bingo to hopefully play a full year(hasnt done it yet).
@ Tookie,
No way Rangers were" playing soft" etc.......
They came into this game truly afraid of playing the Sens,
and I was shocked when they did not start Lundqvist??
I think that they kept their #1 goalie out, because they lost the previous game, and they did not want to have King
Henrcik face another loss, and break his confidence.
Nice to see however, that Tookie gave props to the Sens for this important win.
Quoting Hax:
I completely realize the difference. But why do you assume he's a d bag? Just cause he wears a Leafs jersey at an Ottawa game when the leafs aren't playing? If the guys is acting like a d bag that's one thing but he's not a ass casual of what he wears.
Tookie, not sure I would call that performance soft. It's obvious the Rangers don't need the points as much, they are sitting pretty. Playing Biron to give King Henrik some rest may have made it look like they don't care, but remember, Ottawa has a good track record against NY this year even with Henrik in net. Sure it wasn't as crucial of a game to them, but soft isn't the right word. Rangers had consistent scoring chances, battled against the boards, and layed some good hits. I'd say it was a pretty decent game by them.
Solid for sure and great to see him get his first home win.
I hope Lehner Bishop flip flop and each get a string of games going down the stretch.
It would be nice for Anderson to be back for April to have a chance to get back in the groove a bit a couple of games before playoffs.
I think Maclean has already penciled Bishop in for the Backup job next year and he'll likely get 15-20 starts.
Realistically, i think the Sens match up well against most teams in the East with the exception of Boston and potentially Pittsburgh depending on Crosby and Letang.
Yeah, I agree with Hax though, it's purely to get reaction when they do it, so it is a dbag move...
It's basically trolling in real life... LOL
He's not a dbad or ass "casual" of what he wears - he's a dbag because he's a leaf fan. Are you new here?
Seriously though, if he wore a leaf jersey to SBP and didn't realize he'd be getting a ton of attention then he's not just a dbag, he's an idiot. If he's honestly wearing it just because he's a leaf fan who wanted to see a hockey game and had nothing else clean to wear then he's a super idiot.
Can't believe you're arguing this on a Sens blog. LOL
Stop the damn comments about a few guys wearing a Jersey other than the Sens or Rangers. You've already given these guys more than enough attention, which is obviously what they were looking for and guess what... they got it. Good job!!
I completely realize the difference. But why do you assume he's a d bag? Just cause he wears a Leafs jersey at an Ottawa game when the leafs aren't playing? If the guys is acting like a d bag that's one thing but he's not a ass casual of what he wears.
Leaf fan = Dbag Leaf fan in our barn = Dbag
It is a fair assumption trust me.
IIf you are looking for a clear answer to your question YES just because he wears a Leaf Jersey in our barn he is a Dbag
glad I could clear that up for you lol
Ok maybe soft wasnt the best description, they had 37 hits to our 35 and only 11 blocked shots, thats very uncharateristic for NYR, that's usually how they play games, I just thought looking at the game live that they did not commit to Defence like they would had it been an important game.
They had 9 giveaways to our 9, thats a bad stats for NYR and only 6 takeaways to our 11.
Either way who cares we won and remain on pace for a playoff birth!
Didn't commit to defense?? Were you even watching the game or just swilling beers and yelling? Haha...
They kept us to 7 shots through the first two periods. I would say that is committing to defense!
But let's not assume that a 4-1 win means we're suddenly better than the Rangers. I'd like our chances in a 7-game series, but that's because I'm a Sens fan.
Well this IS a Sens blog so I don't think commenting about them here gives them attention (that they'd know of). For the record, I often ignore them at games for the reason you mention, but if I do decide to scream "LEAFS SUCK" in their ear it's totally for my own selfish gratification which is more important to me than any satisfaction they might get out of the attention.
Ironically, I kinda like to have the odd leaf fan present to laugh at/mock.
On a related note, glad to hear the "Leafs Suck" chants getting louder at SBP. Anything that gets noise in that arena is a good thing. The kids in Suite 108 and their signs/flags are exactly what we need at SBP.
