Bingo Road Trip

For those of you that have been following this site during the off season, you’ll know there has been plenty of talk about a potential Binghamton road trip during the lockout.

Well today I have some details to pass along on a trip that is happening a few weeks from now.  While I am not directly involved in the planning, I have spoken with the guys in charge and they have been able to put together a great trip at an extremely affordable price.

BSens Win, European Round Up

The BSens kicked off their season on a winning note on Saturday night, scoring a 2-1 win over the visiting Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Bingo got third period goals from Jakob Silfverberg and Hugh Jessiman and starting goalie Robin Lehner turned aside all but one of the 36 shots he faced on the night. For new Binghamton Senators head coach Luke Richardson, it was exactly the start he was hoping for from his team.

Tuesday News and Notes

The Binghamton Senators have wrapped up their preseason schedule and now must trim the fat from the training camp roster in preparation for Saturday's opener.

The BSens continued that process over the weekend, assigning forward Jakub Culek to Rimouski of the QMJHL and sending Chris Wideman, Danny New, Brad Peltz and Scott Greenham to teams in the ECHL.

BSens Offence Looks Strong

Granted two preseason games is a ridiculously small sample size but the early indications suggest that the Binghamton Senators could be an offensive force this season.

Luke Richardson has clearly adopted the puck possession, get up and down the ice style that made Paul MacLean so successful in his first year at the NHL level and the early result is a BSens team that is filling the net with ease.

Bingo Beat- BSens Win Opener

With the Binghamton Senators fresh off a 4-3 shootout win in their preseason opener last night against the Hershey Bears and today we are joined by Don Rieber.

Don lives and works for the Examiner in Binghamton and will be providing us with first hand updates from the farm this season.  There may not be NHL hockey but with the prospects the Sens have in the AHL, there will be plenty for Ottawa fans to talk about until the lockout is resolved.

Lockout Leaves Some Sens in Limbo

With nearly 100 locked out NHLers now signed on to play overseas, and a significant number participating in AHL training camps, there will be hockey this fall, even if it doesn't take place in the 30 NHL rinks across North America.

And while a significant number of players have been able to make alternate arrangements, there are still a handful of Ottawa Senators that continue to skate here in the city, waiting for an opening overseas or perhaps some good news related to a new collective bargaining agreement.
