Acutally I'm a SENS fan and I'd rather have Kadri now over Turris now. Kadri is creating offense out of virtually nothing with Colton Orr and whom? Turris is getting first line minutes and crapping the bed noche after noche. Kadri vs. Cowen looks like a case of organizational need, so both teams end up winning here. Now if Cow-N is an injury-prone bad Phillips...it will look bad. GO SENS MY BROSKIS!

@Sandy I am not saying that Turris is not good, he is certainly not a #1 Centre, and has been struggling regardless of his slot. Right now Regin seems bigger and stronger than Turris. only Leaf fans would rather have Kadri than Turris or Cowen... IMO And Turris numbers would only be worse if he were on the third line

I am in the camp that thinks there was collusion between the Flames and Avs. Avs needed closure but could not just give Reilly what he wanted. They needed the guise of an offer sheet to save face with their fans and current roster structure. How fast the Avs agreeded to match seemed odd to me, now this waiver business just added fuel to the fire. Maybe we find out their GM's or owners are golf buddies in a day or two. To me it came down to the question of why wait? If you know you are going to match it, just match it immediately and get him into the lineup ASAP. No collusion imo

furthermore, This season, Phillips is playing extremely sheltered hockey. See Travis yosts line matching blogs the past week. Phillips plays the other teams weakest players, and still ends up with more defensive zone finishes than any other Senator This is a time when we need him to step up and absorb more minutes, but he's incapable and coach Macleans matchups show just that

Yup, no prob bob. First, I want you to count how many times per game phillips backs off the blue line and allows the puck carrier to enter the zone un-punished. Usually, its easy to notice because he spends a lot of time pointing when he should be hitting The amount of pressure other teams gain from this I can't even begin to quantify. 2nd, after years and years of play, he still has zero ability to make a North-South pass. east-west (as in, give it to the other dman and make him do all the work) no problem, but north-south.. he's getting schooled by 1st year Sen Patrick Wiercioch. Usually a Northward pass from phillips ends up on the other teams stick and comes right back

I think we should remember that Benoit was brought in to add some veteran depth to Bingo and his contributions this year in Ottawa are an unexpected bonus. Not saying he can't stick in the NHL or that he's playing way over his head, but cycling him out so Lundin can play shouldn't be a big shock. Likely what beeblebrox said about depth actually. Plus if we can get Lundin some games and demonstrate that he's a decent depth D maybe we can flip him at the deadline for a mid-round pick? Makes sense to go back to Bishop as well. I think Lehner plays Sunday and if all goes well Anderson is ready for Wednesday.

Glad Andy is on the road to recovery and back soon. Chirp, any word on Michalek? Was he on the ice today as well? Proud of the Sens to get a point last night. A team with 7 rookies in it's lineup against a completely healthy Bruins team who will probably win the East. From the former topic, So Kadri gets a hattrick & therefor the Sens made a mistake in not taking him? As for Turris he is not a #1 centre but I think (IMO only) that he is trying to replace Spezza. Nobody on the team can replace Spezza. Turris has to be Turris. He is facing the top checkers & D and yes he is struggling. We were all singing Turris' praises last playoffs when he scored the OT goal to tie the series. Now he struggles so he is not wanted anymore, you would sooner have Kadri because of 1 hattrick? Kadri is having a good year as a 3rd line centre. I wonder what Turris' numbers would be if he played 3rd line centre?

Would be great to see Andy back, but he can take his time knowing that Bishop and Lehner are putting the team on their backs. Good call to take Benoit out for a game. He's been quite good for us all season but I think last night was his worst game of the year, while Wiercioch and Gryba had a solid outing. It won't hurt to sit Benoit out a game or two. On Stone, I'm sure he will get called up at some point next week after he gets a few B-Sen games in over the weekend. I imagine Murray and Maclean will want to make sure he's in game shape before they get him into an NHL game.
