I think we all had higher expectations for Zibby than he as shouwn so far. There is no doubt that he seems to have all the makings of a power forward, but for whatever reason he just cannot finish or rack up any points. Worst case if he does end up a Fisher, it would be a great thing, especially as we will not have to force him into playing on a second line, as we have many prospects that can fill that role, and we all know that if he can fill in on the third line, and have the first two lines pumping, this could be the makings of a team that will contend. All we need now is for dumb dumb's running the league to get their act together, Would like to wish Chirp and all the Chirpers a very Merry Christmas, and for those who do not partake, a happy holiday, and a Very Happy ( with NHL hockey we all hope ) New Year! Peluso, how is the Mullet tree doing? and please put the knuckles down for Christmas, even for Fehr and Bettman, even though we woudl all love to see them go a few rounds with you!

I don't think anyone questions Zibanejads attitude or heart which is likel partially why there are comparisons to Fisher. Obviously, Fish was one of the most popular guys to wear a Sens jersey but he also didn't come with the stigma of a 6th overall pick. His point totals haven't been that bad compared to what he's averaged over his career thus far really. On another note, Richardson really has the whole interview thing perfected, he has a positive for all his guys and I think he's done a great job of establishing "roles" for each guy that are clearly defined. Hopefully he'll stay on with Bingo for a few years, you know he's going to want to jump back to the bigs when he can...

I'm not going to lie the fact that Zibanejad is always hurt concerns me. Speaks to the strength of the Ottawa Senators organization though that even if he winds up as a bust there are still so many other young players to be excited about as evidenced by Binghamton this season. I don't think there are many other teams out there that can remove one of their top rated prospects and still look as good as Ottawa.

News is out on Zibenajed..... Mika zibenajed has suffered is what to believed a mild concussion. He is listed day to day but I would expect Binghamton will not rush him back and will make sure he is at 100% before he returns. It looks like the news of him having his strep throat, needing his wisdom teeth removed, and being sick were just a cover up story to keep the media from finding out about Zibenajed's 3rd concussion in about 9 months......

Moving defenseman Challenge is with Cowen out for the season were awfully thin on defense. There is a very real possibility that teams will have to dump some salary if there is a season this year and Ottawa is one of the best positioned clubs to pick up the right player should they become available. Ultimately, I think the Sens need to pick up a defenseman as it is but if they move Gonchar, they'll need two especially in a shortened season. With that said, if there's a decent deal on the table for Gonchar, you gotta take it. Finishing low in the standing this year wouldn't be the worst thing in the world with the depth of the draft and players we have on the rise. the rebuild could be completed this year.

Great game by the B-Sens last night. I believe Grady said this is the first time the B-Sens have had 16 wins going into the Christmas break. Not bad for one of the youngest (if not the youngest) team in the AHL. They are doing all Sens fans proud.. both B-Sens and O-Sens fans. TIMWRX.. I to enjoy listening to Grady Whittenburg as well. Are you sure you don't want a Whittenburg trade with Ottawa for Dean Brown? LOL As for the defense... maybe they should consider moving Gonchar for something.. Could they get as high as a 2nd round pick for him? I think the Sens don't have a 2nd rounder in the next draft.. that went for Bishop.. Also IF I remember correctly going back to after the trade deadline when Fisher et al were traded.. the Sens had injuries to Gonchar & Kuba.. am I correct on that? They filled in with the Bingo callups and I think they did pretty well. This team is not a Cup contender YET... so would it really hurt them to bring up Benoit and Weircoich? Boro is hurt and hasn't played for some time. It's risky... The other option is to bring up one D from Bingo and sign an experienced NHL UFA D... Question is.. who is still out there unsigned?

What's scary is that not only is this bunch highly skilled but for the most part we're talking about guys with big bodies. And in recent years that has been the recipe for success in the NHL. There are 3 D-men and about 6 forwards who could play right away in the big's with Prince and Pageau as promising forwards for the future. the Da Costa and Grant lines could make the jump, all 6 of those guys are skilled enough. wow the future looks bright. + LEHNER our future version of St. Patrick - when he decides the door is closed well its closed.
