Awesome game by Binghamton. Bishop is starting to get into form.. That pass by Silfverberg for Cannone on the 2nd goal was outstanding. 9 game winning streak ties the team best one.. last one was the 2004/05 lockout year.. This team is one of if not the youngest team in the AHL and they have the best record of the last 10 games of any team in the AHL.. 9-0-0-1. Even the great Oklahoma Barons with their superstars are only 6-2-1-1 over their last 10. B-Sens have 3 more points than them with one less game. Unfortunately Syracuse keeps winning as well. B-Sens 2 pts behind with 2 less games played. Keep it going boys. Keep praying there will be an NHL at the end of this.. so we can see these good young players in Ottawa sometime in the future. Missed why Boro wasn't playing... Did anyone hear what was wrong?

Stuart Schwartz AKA Stuntman “The Punching Bag” Stu - F As much as I try to like the guy, there is nothing engaging about him. Blessed with a strong voice, he has zero personality and minimal knowledge beyond basic headlines. As astutely noted by many on here, he’s a conversation killer. Someone delivers a great zinger and he’s the one guy on the sidelines trying to figure it out. Making it worse, he then draws attention to himself by offering a weak mood-killing serious question or comment 100 miles after the joke. Ironically, it leaves one wondering why he bothered saying anything, for it merely highlights his mood-killing ability. Lacks any wit or sense of humor; both prerequisites of a morning host, especially a flaky one lacking substance or insight. I am sick of seeing this guy milking every local public event (ditto Stoodley and Jim Watson, please get some hobbies that don’t involve self-promotion) .

“Jungle” Jim Jerome F A one-trick pony who failed miserably in his LCD role. Stole valuable airtime. Annoyed guests. Took any cheap shot available. Remarkably unfunny. The ultimate windbag (Dean Brown being a distant second). Who at CFGO thought anyone would desire 3½ hours a day of this clown, especially in a well-informed government town? 3½ MINUTES a month would have been MORE than enough, and only if proven he could deliver regular laughs, which was rarely the case. Hijacked intelligent interviews with his useless banter; had the attention span of a child with profound ADHD. Scratchy voice, irritating over-the-top laughter at his own adolescent fratboy humor. Like pepty, slamigo, lynx and others on here, I would gladly avoid this guy at parties. He’s an obnoxious, senseless, attention-hoard ing, b.s.er whose overt simple-mindedne ss would be nothing more than an outspoken nuisance.

I don't think I need to say it, cause it's obvious. But these negotiations are like a poker game. Fehr is bluffing on his hand, waiting for the NHL to fold. But it makes me wonder if he understands where he sits at the table? If you are small blind, just fold it man!! The NHL consists of players and those players sell tickets, especially the star players. But, the players are playing in the best league in the world, paid a ridiculous salary, treated like rock stars when on the road, families are looked after and all of this is provided by the owners who in turn, work for NHL. In the end, the players are employed by the NHL/Owners and work for them. If the NHL decides to lock them out and blow away the season, what does the NHLPA stand to gain? Nothing, they lose out on an entire season of Hockey and a years pay. If I could give them any advice, whatever they do, don't awaken the sleeping dragon in Bettman! As much as he wants to see NHL Hockey, he will hold out. We've seen it before and he will do it again to prove his point.

Also some interesting facts on Twitter by Bob MacKenzie.. (Newest tweet on top): @TSNBobMcKenzie : And without doing number crunching, many of those 40+ contracts are "backdiving" and likely not do-able in new CBA. So # is further reduced. 18 minutes ago @TSNBobMcKenzie : ...Why would the PA be so adamantly opposed to 5 yr term limit when it affects so few, relatively speaking, of the membership. 19 minutes ago @TSNBobMcKenzie : Of course, you can spin those numbers either way. Such as: why is NHL so worried about a clause that affects so few players, or... 20 minutes ago @TSNBobMcKenzie : So it's obviously a projection, but 5 yr term limits on contracts could conceivably only apply to just over 40 players. 23 minutes ago @TSNBobMcKenzie : But of those 89, just over half are on 6 or 7 yr deals signed as UFA or RFA with their own club. 25 minutes ago @TSNBobMcKenzie : ...@capgeek said 89 players currently are on contracts longer than 5 years. 26 minutes ago @TSNBobMcKenzie : I had a player ask me how many NHLers currently have contracts with term of 6 or more years. I didn't know answer so I asked @capgeek...

I was sort of optimistic on Tuesday.. but that little voice inside of me said it could still blow up and it did. It blew up when Donald Fehr went back into the negotiations. Vinek, Tanenbaum, Chipman, Burkle all said after Wednesday's meetings that Fehr does not want to do a deal. They gave the NHLPA that extra 100M based on a TEN YEAR CBA. They let UFA stay at 27 and no changes to arbitration. They wanted to give their sponsors & fans the labour peace of a long term CBA.. but they wanted 5 yr contracts with a variance ( 7 yrs if stayed with your Club).. They expected the players to get a little excited about the extra $$$ but there was utter silence. The players then went into a meeting then came back and said we will take the $$$ but we also want this and this and this. The NHLPA keeps changing what is most important to them. Donald Fehr is playing.. frustrate the opponent until he gives in.. I believe he came into those meetings to stop the progress and he says there is a better deal yet to come. I hope Bettman doesn't do that. Come Dec 31st if Fehr is still playing his games.. then cancel the season. Fehr is a master manipulator and has the players eating out of his hands. That offer was good enough for about 600 players but not for the 90 players or so that have long term contracts.. ie the superstars. Neuvirth was right.. that's what it's all about.. protecting the star players at all cost.. regardless of the damage to the Game.

In regards to the entire CBA debate. You know what i'd love to see happen? Every media outlet, reporter, journalist, blogger, etc, just STOP reporting about it. Leave the matter alone, focus on another story and let them be. The fact that they have the media to push each other around with, gives them power. If the media just said f*@k it and went elsewhere, what would they do? Fan's would lose interest, and eventually they'd get the point that people just don't care anymore and THAT would show them that Fans have lost interest. Oh how sweet it would be!!

If anyone has line combos, or know where to find them I'd really like to know. Are Zibanejad and Lehner still out? I've been looking for line Combo's since the season started, I can't find diddly squat. I heard on the radio that Zib had been out because of a mouth/throat infection he got after getting his wisdom teeth out. Last week, it was mentioned they hope to see him in the lineup tonight. So he might be, but if he's not it won't be a surprise, just means they felt he needed the continued rest cause they have been firing on all cylinders without him. Lehner is the unknown, was considered a little banged up. Nobody seems to know how it happened, did he get into an altercation in the last game, did anyone see it? Either that, or something off the ice, but nothing more was ever reported, which bothers me. Remember how they tried to play down the whole Cowen injury and looked what the end result was.

The whole purpose of the UNION, was and is to protect the workers from suppression from the employers. There was a time not too long ago that the Employers did in fact exploit the workers, and formed the union to protect them. It was needed then. Well that pendulem has swung way over to the players side, and now it is the hard working fans who really need some protection. Can most of us afford season tickets in the 100's for a family of 4? 20 years ago most of us could. Today, I for one cannot and if the salaries continue to go the way they are, then the average real fan will be gone. The Union has done its job, the players are and will always be more than handsomely paid for playing a GAME and living the life of a movie star, And not having to work the 8-5 grind most of us are content with, even though some days are tougher than others. One ignorant player tweeted that they are sick of being treated like cattle... wake up and live the life of the average everyday worker, and you will quickly realize how blessed you are... ignoramas!

Yup, when I see Bettman stand up to the microphone I see a man that actually displays emotion and someone who actually cares. When Fehr is up there at the podium I see a guy who doesn't give a damn about the game of hockey. The players picked the wrong guy to lead their union. The owners have bent a fair deal for the players but the will never break. These owners have made their millions without the game of hockey, unlike the players who need the NHL to make their living. I wish someone would tell these guys that the longer they hold out, the worse the deal is going to get. Everyone sees that, why can't they? Fehr is leading them into a dark alley. Perfectly Stated! Never thought it possible for me to type these words, Fehr has just made Bettman look like Batman... a hero trying to save the day, while Fehr is playing the Joker! Screw you Fehr, you sound like a man who hates hockey, and is not at all interested in the game the fans, and ultimately the players. Get rid of the Joker!!!

@ Snoopy Senior - I wish, we'd be watching NHL hockey by now and the signed CBA would've been close to the midpoint of where the two sides were at yesterday. @c61 - I'm not going to argue with fans anymore man. If you think the NHL moving off their ridiculous lowball bs offer is good faith bargaining then there's not anything I can say to change your opinion. ----- Both sides are at fault and there's just too much emotion coming into the reps, especially on the NHL side. Owners are mad cause Gary promised they could get a much better CBA than is even on the table yesterday. This is why they rushed to sign all those players to ridiculous contracts this summer. Players are mad cause they gave up so much last time to accept the cap, a feeling of partnership and if it's going to be treated like the baseline is not the last CBA, then there's no way to find common ground and the season will be lost. I'm as frustrated as everyone else, just not directing it at a 1 person or group, or falsely laying blame on a representative of 700+ NHL players.

Don't post much but just have some things to say so thought I should get them out there. Besides the obvious unions are an anachronism from the industrial age point that could easily be made sensnation you are operating from the same fallacy that the union is, that being that they negotiate off of the previous cba. While that cba is usually a good starting point it is no longer in existance therefore they cannot "lose" anything based off of that. While I agree that the contracts that have been signed should be honoured I also believe that the players deserve none of the revenue if that is the case. Why should the players the get contracts plus a cut of the revenue that is no way to have a stable business. Owners should get all of the revenue and dish out money to their employees (players and other staff) according the the contracts signed. Also to say that the players have conceded anything is just plain stupid when you look at the facts, they have grudgingly, at best, moved slightly from their position while the NHL has moved from their 43% to 50 (players only moved after the NHL did which means NHL conceded), the Make Whole (NHLPA proposed and it was again the NHL that moved from their original position). Everywhere in this deal it the NHL moving from their original position first meaning that whatever the NHL is doing is conceded their position and trying to meet the NHLPA somewhere but everytime they do that the NHLPA moves the line further back at some point the NHL has to say this is bad faith and stop. Bettman is not good but they doesn't mean the Fehrs (specifically Donald) are any better. Actually with Bettman trying to get a season on it makes good ol' Donny boy the bad guy in all this.

Sad to see it's become another blame the Fehrs day here. You guys do get that the NHLPA is the only one giving concessions in this whole process. The NHL agreeing to honor the contracts they rushed to sign this past summer is not them giving something to the players. They are legally required to do this without a CBA. People might complain about unions, but unions allow employers to circumvent the law in a CBA as both sides agree to it. Anyways I know this will just get ripped to shreds cause you're all tired of "greedy players". So next time one of u gets screwed, please just take it and don't go looking for support from your fellow man.

There's one thing that's becoming more evident throughout this whole process. Donald Fehr is clearly a cancer. He has no emotional attachment to the game, and nothing to gain by settling on a deal to save the season any time soon. He was brought in by the NHLPA to get the best deal possible, and to hold out for as long as it takes. What he and the players don't seem to realize is that the longer this lockout lasts, the more money they are going to lose and the worse deal they are going to get. As I said before, the average NHLer has about a 5 year career. By losing an entire season they are losing 20% of their career earnings. Then there are the older players like Danny Alfie, Teemu Selanne, Saku Koivu, Ray Whitney, Tomas Holmstrom, Jaromir Jagr who have had great careers but may not retrun to the game if a whole season is lost, or who may not be able to keep up with the younger guys when the game resumes. These guys want to being playing right now, instead of sitting at home wondering if their careers are over.

There's just too much risk for the owners to dole out that much cash over such a long period of time to players who may never earn their pay. Plus, it's only the star players who get contracts that exceed 5 years. When was the last time we saw a 3rd or 4th liner receive a contract with that many guaranteed years of salary? The union can say they are united but I think that’s complete bullshit. There’s no way guys like Alfie, Phillips, Neil, Greening, Condra, Smith, and others like them are in full support of the Fehr brothers and players like Crosby and Toews who are key cogs in this negotiating process. I just can’t see it.

Welllll I can't believe it.. or maybe I can. I just don't know what to think anymore lol This morning I feel like I've lost any support I had left for the players in these negotiations. The NHLPA got the NHL to throw in an extra 100 million dollars on the "make whole" agreement to make it a total of 300 million and around a 55-45 percent split in favor of the players. By doing this the NHL wanted the NHLPA to respect some of their demands, including limiting contract lengths to 5 years, Personally I think this is a very reasonable request. Why should players be awarded contracts longer than 5 years? Just look at all the players that have turned into duds after signing long contracts. Just a few examples: Heatley, Gomez, Drury, Vanek, Dipietro, Lecavalier, Bryzgalov, Malone, Phaneuf, Redden and the list goes on.

All I want for Christmas is for Sportsnet (ie) to start showing AHL games. I think you'd be surprised how many people would tune into some Binghamton action. I remember they showed the last game of the Calder Cup series 2 years ago where Bingo won, but it was also a HORRIBLE feed. Still good enough for me. I watched the TSN feed live on my laptop last night (too lazy to turn on tv) as Bettman bumbled through answers that tried to paint the picture of "oh...the poor NHL owners". Infact...each time I heard him mumble "now..now..I..I ..don't want too...get into a...a..a public debate here"! ... I had to remind myself that punching my laptop screen unfortunately doesn't actually inflict any injury on the person talking. Hmmm...thats what we need...you know that silly little app for Iphones where you can smack a pet cat around....same idea but instead of the cat have a Bettman on the screen with tiny little legs. Get on it APPLE!

"I don't understand why the NHL won't negotiate off the latest nhlpa offer."/quote] NHL was very clear on their must haves, nhlpa led them to believe that they understood this and would work on a compromise with that in mind.... This didn't happen. Essentially, they wasted the owners time and negotiated in bad faith to the point where they alienated the 4 owners that had been soft liners up until this week. Put simply, they pissed off the wrong people. Union needs to pull their head out of their ass and remove Fehr if they want hockey this year.

I'v also have watched every game highlight where turris picks an assist or a goal, I totally agree with you he looks like 60-70 point guy for the Senators if he is playing second line minutes. I also agree that he needs to shoot the puck randomly than pick corners, but when he scores a goal with those shots it's an absolute perfect shot. Interestingly out of the goals he scored with Phoenix and Ottawa, I'v never seen him score a slapshot/one timer goal. Coincidentally right after his Pee wee hockey slapshot goal highlight came out, he went out in the next game blasted a hard one timer into the net(last Karpat game). His team however lost 4-1 in that game, but that one timer goal entertained me. Last thing is the all the assists he has picked were mostly primary assists that have come from really nice passes aswell. I'm really excited for him if there is post lockout hockey.

Well there we have it, just read an explanation n why the nhlpa wants a 5 year CBA. It lines up with the 100th season and they feel they can stick the owners over a barrel. I can see the logic but hasn't this lockout taught you anything? There is going to be a shit load of players in the union pissed off that they didn't take this deal or at least respect the 3 well known factors the owners are stuck on. Side note, Bruins owner is going to secretly offer up bonuses for running that stick man Miller for the remainder of his whiny career!

I'd love to understand the players reasoning for wanting a shorter cba! At this point, I'm personally insulted that they would argue for a shorter term. They aren't concerned about future players and they sure as shit aren't concerned about saving fans from another stoppage in the near future. This crap about looking after future players? C'mon really, you think your next cba it's going to end up in a higher HRR? News flash it will stay the same or go down again until its on par with other sports. This deal they are getting will not be improved on in the next cba! Forget voting on a new cba, players should simply put forth a confidence vote on Fehr....we are dealing with some wealthy powerful owners with a lot of pride and it sounds to me like the union is running a Mickey Mouse road show. I think they are very close to shutting it down and telling the players to call them sometime next summer when they are ready to negotiate in good faith with a defined group of individuals not including Fehr.

The other 99% will continue to pay to go to hockey games and buy game merchandises once the season is back whenever it may be. They wouldn't even have noticed there was a missing season. Kids will still grow up idolizing their hockey players, the league will continue to expand and prosper. Such is the reality and the players and owners both now. I know when he was drafted his style of play was compared to Sakic. well from what I've seen he looks faster and he looks like he has a mission with the puck on his stick. With that wicked shot he should just concentrate on getting it on net, instead of always trying to pick the top corner.
